Cyber threats can disrupt critical services like utilities and transportation, compromise personal data, and affect the technology we rely on every day.

Through the California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC), the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) works with state and local partners to strengthen California’s cybersecurity and help protect the digital systems Californians depend on.

This week, meet Michaela White, an Information Technology Specialist with Cal-CSIC who has spent more than four years at Cal OES researching emerging threats, analyzing intelligence, and helping leadership prepare for potential cyber incidents.

Michaela dreamed of serving California from a young age and is proud to help protect the Golden State’s digital infrastructure.

“The work that we do is very much behind the scenes, protecting the networks and systems and services that the people of California rely on every day. By identifying emerging cyber threats and sharing that information with our local partners, we’re helping communities become better prepared and more resilient against potential cyber incidents,” Michaela said.

What Michaela enjoys most is the dynamic nature of her work, every day brings new challenges and another opportunity to serve California.
