Shining a Spotlight on Staff – I am Cal OES Video Series – Stacey Landey

The increasing intensity of natural disasters and shifts in local and national politics have heightened the need for collaboration among local, state, and federal agencies and the private sector.

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), through the Office of Legislative and Governmental Affairs (LGA), administers this collaboration to ensure the safety of all Californians in all situations.

This week, Cal OES welcomes you to learn more about Stacey Landey, Legislative Analyst with Cal OES LGA. Working at Cal OES for over six years, Stacey tracks and analyzes legislation related to emergency management.  The work she does ensures Cal OES is able to monitor and respond to legislative briefings and hearings and keep all stakeholders informed.

Stacey hails from South Los Angeles and enjoys reading, researching, and staying informed, which aligns well with her work.

“While my work is behind the scenes, it directly impacts local communities. The legislation we track can shape funding and do all sorts of things, so that’s always so fulfilling to see how the bills get passed through and benefit the community,” Stacey said.

Stacey’s team received the 2025 Director’s Award for Inclusive Engagement for engaging with local communities during the Los Angeles Fires last year.
